OMRON X7 Smart AFib Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor Review
(Model: HEM-7380T1-EOSL)
The OMRON X7 Smart AFib is a more feature-rich app-connected upper arm blood pressure monitor with more on-device record-keeping than the X4 Connect AFib. It includes two-user memory, on-device history, automatic averaging, irregular heartbeat alerts, and optional app tracking through OMRON Connect.
The possible AFib alert should be treated as a warning feature, not a diagnosis.
Active Heart Confidence Score: 81 / 100
Good confidence, with some limitations
Last reviewed: June 2026
Review type: Level 1 — Evidence Review
Evidence review only — not hands-on tested by Active Heart Health
This score reflects the available validation evidence, ease of use, support features, record-keeping, and real-world user reviews.
Good fit for: People who want a more fully featured monitor with two-user memory, on-device averaging, and app tracking.
May not suit: People who only want a basic monitor for simple readings.
Strengths
Listed by recognised validation sources, with a link to a validated reference model
Includes cuff-fit guide, movement detection, three-reading averaging, high blood pressure indicator, irregular heartbeat indicator, and possible AFib alert
Intelli Wrap cuff suitable for 22–42 cm arms, with two-user memory, history with date/time support, weekly averages, and guest mode
Limitations
Not the simplest option for people who want a basic app-free monitor
No confirmed backlit display; this may matter if readings are taken in dim light, such as early morning or evening
Some reviews raised concerns about app connection, setup, syncing, app design, and missing readings
About this device
Clinical Validation
OMRON states all of its blood pressure monitors have been clinically validated for use on adults in the general population. We were unable to find a specific validation for this model (HEM-7196T1-FLEO); however, it has been deemed equivalent to a previous OMRON model (HEM-7320-Z): ANSI/AAMI/ISO 2009.
Also clinically validated for use during pregnancy.
Approved for use by the European Society of Hypertension (Stride BP)
Design and screen
Large dual-screen displays the most recent reading and previous readings, with timestamps.
Intelli Wrap Cuff
Size: 22-42cm
OMRON’s Intelli Wrap Cuff is designed to improve the accuracy of home blood pressure readings by minimising errors that commonly occur when a standard cuff is positioned incorrectly.
With its full 360-degree sensing area, the OMRON Intelli Wrap Cuff eliminates the need to align a specific arterial marker with the brachial artery. This design allows the cuff to deliver reliable blood pressure readings regardless of its position around the upper arm.
Its pre-shaped design allows the cuff to be applied comfortably using just one hand, making the measuring process easier.
Cuff Wrap Guide
The cuff wrap guide on the monitors’ display indicates whether the cuff is properly secured or too loose, helping prevent inaccurate results.
Intellisense Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) screening
works by analysing the pulse pressure waves during a blood pressure measurement. If an irregularity is detected in pulse-to-pulse intervals, the device displays a symbol indicating possible Atrial Fibrillation (AFib).
OMRON advises users to consult with their doctor if the device gives this warning.
This feature does not replace a doctor’s examination but helps to detect AFib at an early stage.
This device is not intended for the diagnosis, treatment, or management of AFib.
Body movement detection
alerts the user if any movement during the blood pressure reading may have compromised the measurement. This supports more accurate and reliable blood pressure readings.
